In the winter of 1990 I started thinking of my children growing up and what I was going to do with my 'spare' time. Working as a secretary at Big Rapids Middle School I had my summer's off and needed something to do.
We had been purchasing Durachlor chlorine for our pool for quite a few years and knew that is all we would use and it 'struck' me that I could be selling it.
I made a trip to Grand Rapids, MI and talked to the Distributor and Raab's Pool Supply was born. I started the end of June 1990 with an investment of $800 and an inventory that covered only 2 shelves about 4' long~~~and the rest they say is history!!!!
Now, in our 22nd year we have lots of competition. Trying to keep ahead of the 'Big Box' stores keeps me jumping, however, they don't have Gary and me!!!! Also, we sell everything that they don't including items such as: Pumps, filters, liners, covers, heaters and of course pools!!!
